What Genre of Anime do you watch the most?

So what do your prefer more?  Comedy?  Drama?  Shounen?  Slice-of-life? I find myself gravitating towards horror (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) and seinen (Monster, Berserk) a lot.  But, every now and…Continue

@ L@LoK@

Those are amazing ideas, you're incredible! To be honest, I wouldn't have the courage to wear such sexy costumes in public. I'm more of the Nana Osaki or Death the Kid kind of cosplayer, lol! Last Halloween, I actually wanted to make an Ezio costume, but I ran out of time and ended up being a ninja instead.

I've never heard of No More Heroes, what system is that?

I think with Black Orchid, you will KILL at the convention, literally! Lol. Will you make all of your costumes from scratch? If you do, we have to exchange patterns :)

You are so awesome. I haven't been to an official convention yet, but I plan to in May. There's a big one that is going to happen in Atlanta. I'm excited. I'm planning on dressing up and Storm is played out. I was so convinced to be Black Orchid -very hot. Then I thought about being Joleyne Jostar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures (which is another great anime! Looking forward to the next chapter. Oh and the guys even though they're animated are very hot. AND the creator was asked by Gucci if Gucci can use some of his designs. I started wearing scarfs because of how stylish the creator made it to be.). For that character, I need to do major abdominal work.:-P Now, I am making a Pawstar costume, but I don't know. Now I'm considering a character from this game, No More Heros. But I have time ...

@ L@LoK@ My second home is, lol. Here's the link to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai and Rei, and also the OVA.

As far as conventions, I've been to a few local ones, not nearly as big and publicized as the one in San Diego, but they've had some nice guest stars come through a few times. Last year, it was the cast of Power Rangers: Time Force or some shit. I wasn't interested, lol!

The ones I really want to check out are the ones TFS attends. I've been an uuber fan ever since their first DBZA episode, and I've followed them religiously since. Also, I want to cosplay the next time I go. I just don't know what I want to be. Storm is played out for black girls, you know? Hahaha!

How about you? Ever been to a convention? Would you dress up?

Where can I find all three seasons? I am so into that! It's so demented, it's scary. What's really scary is that people in reality act like that. Can be all nice and sweet, then something triggers an adverse reaction to switch to a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde complex. It's freaky, but interesting.
Thanks for the suggestions! I am surely gonna check those out. Hey, question for you. If you could go to an anime convention, would you go?

@ L@LoK@ Omg, I LOVE Higurashi! It's is so demented the way they have everything happy and fun at first and then all hell breaks loose! Lol! Did you watch all 3 seasons? That story is absolutely amazing. I like Elfen Lied and Blue Gender too, those were pretty f-ed up. I'm a big fan of the really twisted, psychological anime. One that was unexpectedly is School Days. Messed up ending.

@ Taj Michele When I first watched B Gata H Kei, I was in tears laughing so hard! Yamada easily became one of my favorite female anime characters. If you like comedies, and don't mind if they're a little romantic, I would suggest:

1. Lovely Complex, a story of a high school girl who is much taller than the average female, and a high school boy who is much shorter than the average male, and their pursuit to find love. It's hilarious and touching all the way through.

2. Ranma 1/2, this is and older anime, but the comedy is still crisp. It's about a young martial artist who falls into a pond that curses him to turn into a girl when splashed with cold water, and his adventures with his fiance and company.

3. Girls Bravo, totally ecchi, totally hilarious. Yes, there is a whole lot of boob flashing and sexual innuendo, however, that's what makes this raunchy anime so fun. The comedy never misses and it doesn't even hesitate to make fun of itself which is cool.

Those are just a few suggestions, all very different from each other, but each one can hold its own. I've got a ton more if you like, and I'm always open to any other suggestions too.

Even if you can't find them on Netflix, haven't tried so I can't say yeah or neigh. But you are able to find the episodes on individual websites. Oh!!! Something else that I recommend to see. "Attack on Titan". That was really, really, really good!!!!!

@L@LoK@ thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely look into those. Hopefully they are on Netflix. Lol

Since you asked ( ^ - ^ ), I highly recommend "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni." Do not, DO NOT, watch the dubbed version. Watch the subbed version. It seems the dubbed version of Anime is lower quality than what the actual wording is. Try to figure out the mystery. Oh, just in case it confuses you. The show takes the perspective, or story of each of the main characters. It's so I retesting!!! Notice how sweet and nice it starts out to be, then it changes into a demented, psychotic scenario. I give this show 5 out of 5 stars. Something else that I like I'd D. Grayman. That has a story line that bases it off of the belief of a religious sect. Try to guess which one? ;-) Once again, watch subbed. I watched dubbed until I couldn't anymore because they stopped making them. Comparing the subbed and the dubbed, once again the dubbed is so much better.
