My Poems

I Am A Woman A Lady

When I stare in the mirror

I like what I see

But when I look on the inside

I love what’s inside me

I am beautiful and sexy

Very pleasant on the outside

I have a good heart

And am smart on the inside

It may be hard to believe

Because beauty in and out is rare

But I tell you right now

Both is what I share

I won’t give away my respect

Nor will I give away my dignity

I am a real woman a lady

No one has the power to label me

When I walk past people

Most of the time

They stare for a while

Because my presence is sublime

I am a woman a lady

Something that is precious and rare

I am a woman a poetess

And my soul I shall bare

You say that its not good to isolate

Because by then you know it will be to late

To late to say that you are sorry, to late to change

You see to isolate oneself is to set oneself free

That freedom and peace that you blinded from me

With venom words that seeped into my veins

Lips that caressed my body and made me go insane

Love making that made my body feel as if I was on a high with the top down in two lanes

You see I need to be set free

Free into this thing you call an isolation

Not understanding that its just a conversation

A conversation between me and the one that be, so I can look into his space and ask the deep and hard questions that can not be erased

To be free in my isolation to meditate and reach my hand out as if I was a tree and feel the warm breeze of me loving me

What is this?
To open up my mind and to dismiss,
The expectations of the world and to resist,
The stereotypes that are ignorance's abyss
To look at you and embrace your magnificent difference
To fill my mind with the possibilities endless, your essence
A mutual wanting, to feed the longing with your presence
May I present?
The miracle, of the mixed race couple, over which narrow minds will grapple
That forbidden fruit, an eve to an apple
But without consequence of guilt and shame
As the force of attraction beckons for a passion untame
The kind of fire that ignites when two different catalysts meet
Match head to match box side, strike and alight a love, a feat
Korean, Nigerian
Haitian, Laotian
Love potion, interracial ocean
Namibian, Carribean, Chinese, Taiwanese
Resilient in union, oh please what's their opinion?
It matters not, they don't have what we've got
We have our Sir from China, when you find her would you remind her to sure that there no kind like her, our Moroccan Princess yes
Is your man from the Phillipines you African Queens
Does he make you scream, in anger or pleasure, fulfilling your dreams beyond measure
It's our treasure, our Japanese, hoping to embrace our Senegalese
While our Vietnamese reach out and touch our Congolese
Let all dark and lovelies from these United States meet our pleasure trees from every corner of Asia, let them sway her to east, even if they're homies from the west
Would we not aspire, for our young blended offspring to enquire about both backgrounds and desire, to grow in wisdom concerning all these things?
Present the wedding rings, as Ebony brides caress their Asian grooms, never leaving rooms, as passions like fumes, engulf their souls as they become one, second to none, in love, honor and respect, and neglect to be phased by the monochrome coupled counter-parts that are unable to appreciate this very art..that is us.
Think. On. These. Things.

I was born in the Congo
I walked to the Fertile Crescent and built
The sphinx
I designed a pyramid so tough that a star
That only glows every one hundred years falls
Into the center giving divine perfect light
I am bad

I sat on the throne
drinking nectar with allah
I got hot and sent an ice age to europe
to cool my thirst
My oldest daughter is nefertiti
the tears from my birth pains
created the nile
I am a beautiful woman

I gazed on the forest and burned
out the sahara desert
with a packet of goat's meat
and a change of clothes
I crossed it in two hours
I am a gazelle so swift
so swift you can't catch me

For a birthday present when he was three
I gave my son hannibal an elephant
He gave me rome for mother's day
My strength flows ever on

My son noah built new/ark and
I stood proudly at the helm
as we sailed on a soft summer day
I turned myself into myself and was
men intone my loving name
All praises All praises
I am the one who would save

I sowed diamonds in my back yard
My bowels deliver uranium
the filings from my fingernails are
semi-precious jewels
On a trip north
I caught a cold and blew
My nose giving oil to the arab world
I am so hip even my errors are correct
I sailed west to reach east and had to round off
the earth as I went
The hair from my head thinned and gold was laid
across three continents

I am so perfect so divine so ethereal so surreal
I cannot be comprehended except by my permission

I mean...I...can fly
like a bird in the sky...
